If you do not have headphones connected to the HXL, the LED light will turn off after cycling through. This is an intended feature to help save device power when headphones are unplugged.
The HXL only needs 120mA USB power to work, which most all modern source devices are capable of.
Verify that the sample rate selection in your computer’s OS is set correctly. Your OS’s output settings will determine the color of the LED on the HXL — not the specific file being played.
